Everyday Storytelling – 08.20.14 • St. Louis, MO Family Photographer

My hubby is out of town so it was just me and the twinkles last night for a quiet night at home.  I decided it was a good time to do a little “everyday storytelling” with them so we could share the night with Dad.  Instead of taking my usual approach, I decided to load the roll of B&W film I had into my Mom’s old Minolta SLR.  Note: She gave it to me 18 months ago and since that moment it has been collecting dust inside the hutch in my dining room.

I’ve never shot on this camera (and haven’t shot with film in ages).  I was using a light meter app on my iPhone to help me meter light and decided, why not record some old school video using my favorite 8mm app and take some iPhone pictures edited to look like old B&W film.  The end result, a cute video for Daddy and some “insurance” images in case the film ones don’t turn out. 😉  Stay tuned… I LOVED how it felt to close the shutter on this old camera!

A few favorite moments as captured on my iPhone 5s…

Finally, the video for Daddy.  🙂
